实现重要农作物精准基因组编辑对加快农作物遗传改良进程具有重要意义。引导编辑技术（Prime editing）是一种基于CRISPR/Cas系统的全新精确基因组编辑技术。2020年，包括北京市农林科学院在内的多家实验室实现了植物引导编辑技术的初步突破，但植物基因组中很多位点编辑效率依旧很低，亟需突破技术瓶颈，实现编辑效率显著提升。
