从2020年10月7日起,欧洲中期天气预报中心(以下简称ECMWF)的数百张预报图免费向所有人开放。其中,温度、风、降水、云和海浪的中长期预报图只是免费提供的部分产品。随着ECMWF对集合预报的关注,图像也涵盖了基于概率的信息,为预测置信度提供指导。极端条件概率以及热带和温带气旋活动也包括在内。

近日,欧洲中期天气预报中心(ECMWF)项目协调人透露,一项与人类活动有关的全球二氧化碳排放量监测和估算能力的项目——二氧化碳人类排放(CHE)项目正在建立,该项目由欧盟资助,按计划将在2023年前交付原型系统。该项目汇集了来自欧洲8个国家22个合作组织,为期三年并由ECMWF负责协调。

欧洲中期天气预报中心(以下简称ECMWF)计划于本月底对其集合预报系统(以下简称IFS)进行升级,利用一种新方法显著提升平流层温度预报水平。
